The climate in the Gastein Healing Gallery is unique in the world. The Healing Gallery, because of its high success, rates as the most effective “cure means” is in the Gastein Valley. The extraordinary effect is due to the naturally given combination of three medical factors:
- Radon content of approximately 4,5nCi/l air
- Air temperature of 37 - 41,5 °C
- Relative air humidity from 70 up to almost 100 %
A train will take you 2,5 km into the mountain. The heat and high humidity cause overheating of the body of up to 38° C, the radon intake is therefore increased. The noble gas radon, excites through its short-term stimulus beams the metabolism of the cells. The different temperatures and humidity levels at the various stations enables an individual adjustment of the treatment to the disease pattern and heat tolerance of the patient.
